Xander Materné is a Belgian artist born in Leuven in 1997. With a background in illustration and visual arts, his work is defined by expressive, sometimes aggressive lines. His focus on texture and shadow is driven by an interest in diverse cultural influences and children's art. He does not censor his artwork based on what people might think. His works explore themes of transformation, primal imagery, and raw emotions, engaging viewers with their bold, skeletal forms and thick, tactile paint. As a young painter, he views this website as a portfolio for personal growth and research. 

Xander lives in Leuven and teaches at the Art Academy SLAC.
